Tim has worked in rainforest interpretation at his family business in Lamington National Park for 20 years. Birding has been a major focus of Tim’s work, running events such as O’Reilly’s Bird Week and leading many international birding trips. Tim has also facilitated specialist topic weeks focusing on mammals, frogs and botany, utilising his broad understanding of Australian ecosystems.

Tim has led numerous school groups with specific learning objectives on topics such as the principles of ecotourism and rainforest ecology. He is currently studying externally for a Bachelor of Arts/Science through the University of New England, majoring in botany and writing.
